Eligibility & admissions

A structured recovery path — for those ready to take it.

Guardian Lite is a sober recovery home rooted in trust, quality care, and personal accountability. We believe every person deserves a supported opportunity to rebuild their life in sobriety — and our admissions process is designed to match the right individuals with the right recovery environment.

Our admissions philosophy

Structure, trust, and a genuine commitment to your recovery.

We do not simply provide housing. Guardian Lite offers a structured sober residential community where accountability and compassion work together. Our admissions process is built on honesty — we take time to understand each person's background, recovery goals, and needs so we can set every resident up for lasting sobriety.

Trust & transparency

We are upfront about what our sober recovery program requires and what residents can expect. No surprises — just clear expectations and consistent support.

Quality care

Every resident receives an individualized recovery support plan, regular case management check-ins, and access to community resources tailored to their sobriety goals.

Personal accountability

Progress at Guardian Lite is built on ownership. Residents are supported — and expected — to take active steps toward sobriety and independence every day.

General eligibility criteria

Referral & priority admission pathways

Multiple pathways in — because every recovery journey is different.

Guardian Lite accepts referrals from a wide range of sources. Whether you are applying on your own, with the support of family, or through an institutional partner, we have a pathway into our sober recovery home for you.

Self-referral

Individuals can apply directly by submitting an inquiry through our contact form or calling our admissions team. No third-party referral is required to enter our sober recovery program.

Family referral

Family members and loved ones may initiate the admissions process on behalf of an individual. Our team will work with both the applicant and their support network throughout recovery.

Judicial & correctional referral

We offer streamlined intake for individuals transitioning from correctional facilities, probation, or parole. Referrals from courts, SCDC, and Richland County Probation are welcomed and prioritized.

Mental health & social services referral

Through our alliances with SC Department of Mental Health and Department of Social Services, we coordinate closely with providers to support individuals with co-occurring recovery needs.

Community agency referral

Reentry organizations, workforce programs, and recovery advocacy groups — including SC Works and SC Alliance for Recovery Residence — can refer individuals directly to our admissions team.

Admissions process

From first contact to move-in day.

Our four-step process is designed to be clear, responsive, and centered on the individual's recovery journey. We work with applicants and referral partners to complete intake efficiently and with care.

01

Initial inquiry & referral intake

Submit basic contact and background details through our inquiry form, call our admissions team directly, or have a referral partner submit on your behalf. We respond within one business day.

02

Intake assessment & eligibility review

Our admissions team conducts a one-on-one consultation to discuss your recovery needs, sobriety goals, judicial conditions (if applicable), and program fit. This is a conversation — not an interrogation.

03

Welcome & recovery plan

Upon approval, we review your resident rights, sober living rules, and individualized recovery goals together. You leave this step with a clear picture of what your time at Guardian Lite will look like.

04

Onboarding & routine integration

Move-in day is the beginning of your recovery journey. You settle into structured sober housing, meet your case manager and fellow residents, and begin integrating into the daily routines that support your sobriety.
